Brittany Howard, a five-time Grammy-winning alternative and indie artist, and Mercury Prize winning, Grammy-nominated R&B and soul artist Michael Kiwanuka have announced their co-headline fall tour kicking off September 29.

The tour, which starts in Philadelphia, will be running through 14 North American venues before ending on October 19 in Paso Robles, CA. It will be stopping at Queen Elizabeth Theatre on October 12.

The artists announced that they will be donating $1 for every ticket sold to The Ally Coalition, a non-profit that works to support LGBTQ2S+ youth through tours, to help fund housing and mental health support for people of colour, single mothers, and unhoused LGBTQ2S+ youth.

Both headliners expressed their enthusiasm about getting to tour together.

“We started this at almost the same time in 2011, and it has been so amazing to follow his growth journey as an artist,” Howard, who fronted the popular band Alamaba Shakes and has since struck out on her own, says in a release. “This tour is a dream come true.”

In the same release, Michael Kiwanuka says he is “so excited to join Brittany on this run. I’ve been such a fan of her music since I first saw a video of her singing ‘Hold On’ in a record store somewhere. So authentically true in her voice and songs. Since then I’ve been hooked. Seeing her shine as a solo artist is a delight so it’s a real honour for me to be able to share the stage with her.”

Tickets go on pre-sale April 24, with regular sale beginning April 26.

Folk artist Yasmin Williams will be joining the tour as well.
