Critically-acclaimed Chicago rapper Mick Jenkins, Los Angeles dream rockers Cherry Glazerr, and Polaris Prize–winning genre masher Debby Friday are among the headliners for the just-announced 2024 edition of the Westward Music Festival in Vancouver.

Other top-billed acts will include NOBRO, Cartal Madras, and Corridor, with the showcase running June 22 to 23 at multiple venues. Representing Vancouver at the Westward Music Festival will be local heroes Haley Blais, Hotel Decor, Janky Bungag, Winona Forever, and 2024 ELEVATE Music Project winner Temia.

Noting in a release that Vancouver acts are a huge part of the two-day blowout, promoters MRG say, “These artists represent the future of Vancouver’s music scene, and their inclusion underscores the festival’s commitment to supporting local talent.”

The action over the two days will be centered in Mount Pleasant, with evening concerts taking place at the Fox Cabaret, Biltmore Cabaret, Red Gate Arts Society.

Westward kicks off at 1pm each day with live performances at the City Centre Artist Lodge’s Skyline Stage.

The City Centre Artist Lodge will also serve as a creative hub for the weekend, with artists and artisans showcasing their works and wares onsite. Expect everything from visual art to handcrafted goods, contributing to the festival’s goal of being an immersive experience.

Westward Music Festival was founded in 2017, with one of the goals being to showcase artists in intimate clubs while also helping build the local music scene.
