Vancouver’s best patios: Yaletown

    1 of 1 2 of 1

If you ever find yourself in Yaletown, one thing becomes very apparent: they love their patios. Along high-traffic areas like Mainland and Hamilton streets, you can expect year-round service on restaurant and bar patios, complete with coverings and heaters. Here are a few of my faves.

      Brix & Mortar

Located within the walls of a heritage building, Brix & Mortar alludes elegance, and the patio is no exception. Expect the same level of care outdoors as the space hosts indoors, with exposed brick, live greenery, booth seating, and even multiple chandeliers for an authentic city experience.

      Per Se Social Corner

Perched on the edge of Yaletown, Per Se Social Corner offers a fusion of Spanish and Italian cuisine, perfect for both indoor and outdoor dining. The spacious and never-congested patio is adorned with a fountain, plants, and fairy lights, enhancing its rustic European influences.

      Minami

Everything about dining at Minami feels unexpected in the best way. This fine-dining sushi spot is seemingly unassuming from the outside, but once you step in, you’ll see how expansive the interior is. Another element that may surprise you about Minami is its comfortably-sized back patio with plenty of greenery adding to the ambiance.

      Earls

Right on the corner of two of Yaletown’s busiest streets, the Earls is a go-to for people-watching. This corner spot boasts one of Yaletown’s most extensive patios and is seemingly always busy (maybe it’s the high-value happy hour). In the colder months, it transforms into a winter wonderland with snowy-themed decor, and in the summer, Earls does away with temporary walls that make the space open and airy.

      The Keg

While The Keg has a street-front patio, the real magic is once you step into the elevator and make your way onto the rooftop. With a full-service bar in the centre, plenty of lounge seating, plus fireplaces and a gorgeous cityscape view, it is truly no wonder this location is considered one of the best rooftop spots in the city.
