Two Canadian alpine skiers, including one from B.C., have won silver medals in slalom at Vancouver's 2010 Paralympic Winter Games.

Today (March 14) at Whistler Creekside, Josh Dueck of Vernon captured second place in the men's sitting slalom.

Viviane Forest of Edmonton picked up a silver in the women's visually impaired slalom.

Dueck, who is 29 years old and was born in Kimberley, is the 2009 IPC world downhill champion.

With Colette Bourgonje's result earlier today in the women's 10-kilometre sitting cross-country skiing event, Canada now has a total of three silver medals at the Paralympics.

I absolutely love the support of young adults who are here in Whistler right now. A huge group of Team Josh cheerleaders from the Okanogan and Lower Mainland are celebrating tonight! None more so than Josh Dueck. Way to go!!!
