The Marley Brothers are set to reunite at Deer Lake Park

Celebrate Bob Marley’s music legacy through his sons Ziggy, Stephen, Julian, Ky-Mani, and Damian, also known as the Marley Brothers, this September with the kickoff of the newly-announced Legacy Tour on September 5 at Deer Lake Park in Burnaby.

This momentous tour marks the first time in two decades that all five Marley Brothers will perform together. The show promises to celebrate their father’s iconic legacy, with classic Bob Marley songs and individual hits from each son. It’s worth noting that these talented brothers have also found success as solo artists, amassing over 20 Grammys between them.

Different combinations of the brothers have performed and released music together in the past. Ziggy and Stephen had previously performed together in Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, which included their sisters, Sharon and Cedella, often drawing comparisons to their father’s group, Bob Marley and the Wailers. Does the vocal styling of the Melody Makers sound familiar to you? If so, you might have also been a fan of the 1990s animated TV show Arthur, for which the group sings the theme song.

It seems fitting that the tour starts at an outdoor venue in cannabis-friendly (if not enthusiastic) Vancouver before embarking on a 22-date run throughout Canada and the United States. Also as a nod to 420, Bob Marley: One Love, a biographical drama, will expand screenings on April 20 to introduce new audiences to the life and legacy of the Jamaican singer and reggae music pioneer.
