Suanne and I had just sent off our boys for summer camp. They will be away for a full two weeks in Vancouver Island. While they are away, Suanne and I took the opportunity to scoot off on a vacation on our own.

We slept like a baby the first night in Washington DC. We had no idea how tired we really were. We were well rested ... well ... except that Suanne woke up with a stiff neck. The pillows she selected at the hotel were too soft for her.

You might find this hard to believe but we had never been to a purely Szechuan restaurant before. It is because we were unfamiliar with the food and also feared that ordering would be a problem as most of these authentic Chinese restaurants does not have (proper) menus in English.

George and Ease recently invited us for dinner.  It had been a very long while since we had met up.  It must have been something like over three years.  We had utmost respect for them and remembered so well how they had supported us in times of need.

Suanne and I are beginning to find more time to ourselves these days. The boys are getting older and they are having more extra-curricular activities. It’s a sign that it’s going to be a few more short years before they will be spending even more time on their own.
