Canucks defenceman Luc Bourdon killed in motorcycle accident

Shocking news today. TSN.ca has reported that Vancouver Canucks defenceman Luc Bourdon was killed in a motorcycle accident in northern New Brunswick. He was 21 years old at the time of his death.

TSN.ca's report characterized the young defenceman as a promising athlete who was a valuable player to the Canucks and Canada's junior team.

On the afternoon of Thursday (May 29), Canucks general manager Mike Gillis issued the following statement:

We are deeply saddened by today’s news and on behalf of the entire Vancouver Canucks organization, I would like to extend my sincere sympathies to Luc’s family. Luc was an extremely talented player with a bright future. He brought great passion to the game and was a valued team member on and off the ice. He will be greatly missed.
