In a blog item posted on You Thought We Wouldn't Notice on June 13, the design company Alphabet Arm pointed out similarities between the cover of a new album by emo band Cute Is What We Aim For (see above right) and a Counting Crows logo (above left) that Alphabet Arm designed a few years ago:

"At the beginning of last year, Cute Is What We Aim For’s management contacted us about doing some merch designs for the band. They informed us the band liked our work, namely a design we did for Counting Crows back in 2004 or 2005 (That design has since been published in a few books, namely Logo Lounge 3 + Letterhead and Logo Design 9 from Rockport Press). After some back and forth over pricing we were informed they were going to concentrate on the merch design in-house and contact us later. We never heard anything back. Just this morning we came across the cover of their new album… coincidence? You decide."
