Media uploading - Terms of Use

By submitting your content—photo(s), video(s), or audio clip(s) —you grant to Vancouver Free Press Publishing Corporation a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, irrevocable and nonexclusive right and licence to, in whole or in part, use, copy, adapt, edit, reproduce, license, syndicate, print, transmit, communicate, publicly display and perform, distribute and create compilations and derivative works from and otherwise exploit the content you submit or any portion thereof in any medium or forum whether now known or to be devised, including, without limitation phones, PDAs, pagers and other wireline and wireless enabled devices and applications, and for all promotions thereof.

You represent and warrant that the content you submit is an original work by you, that you own or control 100 percent of the rights in and to your content and the rights granted to Vancouver Free Press Publishing Corporation in this licence, and such rights are and shall be free and clear of any and all claims, rights and obligations; and that you have the right to grant to Vancouver Free Press Publishing Corporation the rights granted to us in this licence, you do not require the consent of any third party and that there is no contract with any third party that could in any way interfere with Vancouver Free Press Publishing Corporation's rights under this licence or require any payment to be made to anyone by Vancouver Free Press Publishing Corporation.

You also warrant that neither the content nor the exercise of the rights granted herein shall infringe upon or violate the right of privacy or right of publicity of, or constitute a libel or slander against, or violate any law or any other right of, any person or entity. In addition, you warrant that all moral rights in such content have been waived in favour of Vancouver Free Press Publishing Corporation.

You agree to indemnify and hold Vancouver Free Press Publishing Corporation. free from and against all claims, demands, loss, liability, damages and expenses (including legal fees and disbursements), including actions for infringement of copyright, any third-party claim inconsistent with your representations and warranties or otherwise in connection with our use of your content under the terms of this licence.

You are advised to refer to the general terms and conditions of this website. If those general website terms and conditions conflict with the terms and conditions of these Terms of Use, these Terms of Use will govern.

You agree to release Vancouver Free Press Publishing Corporation. from any liability associated with the publication of your submission. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Vancouver Free Press Publishing Corporation, its licensees, successors and assigns, and each of its officers, agents and employees from all liabilities or losses, including, without limitation, reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or related to Vancouver Free Press Publishing Corporation’s exercise of the rights granted herein. This licence shall be governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia.

Children under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian’s written permission to submit content. Unless such permission accompanies the photos and/or stories, they will not be considered.
