Black Mountain plays Insite concert

Talk about a heavy double bill. Considering Black Mountain gets hit with the stoner-rock tag enough to get Josh Homme watching over his shoulder, it’s kind of funny that the Vancouver Pitchfork darlings will be helping celebrate the fifth anniversary of Insite on Saturday (December 6). They’ve got good company. Bedouin Soundclash had the police on their backs in October when Insite first invited the Toronto-based pop-Caribbeana faves to its free outdoor concert at Main and Hastings. The whole mess ended in no music and lots of incendiary YouTube videos, but with permits in order—and a presumably less prickish attitude from the city—it should be smooth sailing this time. Be there at 4:30 p.m., near the corner of Main and Hastings streets.
