Carded art trade at Jacana Gallery

Last year’s inaugural Carded event had people frantically trading miniature local and international art pieces—printed baseball-card style—like it was two minutes to closing at the New York Stock Exchange. And just like the stock market, the value of a card elicited panicked scraps one moment and exasperated yawns the next. Judging by the finicky nature of it all, it’d be best to stick around for at least a couple of hours for the sophomore edition this Saturday (February 27) at Jacana Gallery (2435 Granville Street). Picking up a $5 pack of randomly selected cards could land you an instantly awesome assortment of photos or moody paintings, but make the rounds to test your bartering skills in the art market.
