Vancouver councillor Andrea Reimer hospitalized with “serious infection”

Vision Vancouver city councillor Andrea Reimer has been hospitalized and will be out of action “indefinitely”.

This is according to the two-term councillor’s automated reply from her council email address. The Straight had made several calls to Reimer, seeking comment on the issue of smart meters, but there was no reply.

“Late last week I was admitted to hospital with a serious infection,” Reimer stated in the automated email. “Medical staff have done an exemplary job of locating and treating the infection but I’m not out of the woods yet. Once I’m released I will be taking some time off to recuperate from treatment.”

Best wishes to Ms. Reimer. Mend well and get lots of rest.

I recently had an infection that required treatment with IV and oral antibiotics. It was painful, tiring and definitely not fun.

It's one of the unfortunate but all-too-real risks of dealing with Vision Vancouver in close quarters.

I trust you are feeling better now since your recent stay in VGH. All the best wishes for a total & complete recovery. I am glad you found the vegetarian food in hospital satisfactory. I am 80-90% vegetarian too, however, when I feel a cold comimg on I put fresh garlic & tomato juice in an electric blender & drink it down. Echinacea sometimes helps. Cold-FX is available at London Drugs & was advertised during the Olympics. If I am still feeling that I need an extra boost of cold protection I make homemade chicken matzo ball soup.
Take care Andrea! We all need your hard work at City Hall!
