Early returns show NDP out in front in Chilliwack-Hope and Port Moody-Coquitlam by-elections

B.C. NDP candidates are leading in Port Moody-Coquitlam and Chilliwack-Hope in early returns, according to Elections B.C.

With seven of 132 ballot boxes counted, former Port Moody mayor Joe Trasolini has 66.46 percent of the votes. B.C. Liberal Dennis Marsden is far behind with 20.69 percent, followed by B.C. Conservative Christine Clark at 12.85 percent.

In Chilliwack-Hope with seven of 126 boxes counted, New Democrat Gwen O`Mahony has 45.49 percent. B.C. Liberal Laurie Throness is in second place with 28.76 percent, followed by B.C. Conservative John Martin at 25.32 percent.
