Rush Limbaugh plays all of us for chumps with Batman stunt

Everyone knows that Rush Limbaugh is a manipulative asshole.

So it shouldn't be a surprise that this idiot of a talk-show host has claimed that the villain in the new Batman movie was crafted to make people think of the next Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney.

"Do you know the name of the villain in this movie? Bane. The villain in The Dark Knight Rises is named Bane: B-A-N-E," Limbaugh recently said on his show—sounding a bit drunk or stoned at the time.

If you doubt me, listen to the YouTube audio below and draw your own conclusion.

"What is the name of the venture-capital firm that Romney ran and around which there is now this make-believe controversy?" Limbaugh then demanded to know. "Bain. The movie has been in the works for a long time. The release date has been known—summer 2012—for a long time. Do you think that it is accidental that the name of the really vicious fire-breathing four-eyed whatever it is villain in this movie is named Bane?"

It's not accidental that Limbaugh would cook up this nonsense. He knew that all of us in the media will tell everyone about his silly conspiracy theory, enabling him to ride the new Batman movie for a bit of free publicity.

Yes, he's played me for a fool, just like everyone else.

This explains why Limbaugh has maintained the top-rated radio talk show in America for more than 20 years and why he has more than 15 million listeners.

Limbaugh never underestimates the stupidity of the public or the media.

The best way to reduce Rush Limbaugh's influence is to ignore him.

      Have another Oxy, Rush.

Bane has been around for about twenty years (or longer) in the DC Comics Universe.

Of course, that would require you to actually, you know, care to do research

Rush, please stop ripping off your vitriol from the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. You're looking even more foolish than usual.

I guess Rush hasn't seen any of the other Batman movies, or he'd know that Bane's first appearance in one was this:

Then again, I can't blame anyone for not wanting to watch Batman and Robin. What a steaming pile of crap.
