The Georgia Straight presents The Straight Series featuring Plants and Animals & The Deep Dark Woods

      Live Nation has announced that Montreal’s Plants and Animals and Saskatoon’s The Deep Dark Woods will co-headline a show at the Commodore Ballroom on Thursday, November 1, as part of the Straight Series.

      Indie-rock group Plants and Animals performed last weekend at the Live at Squamish Festival and recently released a cover of Malajube’s “Etienne d’août” which was recorded live at Pop Montreal in 2011.

      Alt-country group The Deep Dark Woods was praised for its recent performance at the Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival and continues to draw critical acclaim for its 2011 release, The Place I Left Behind. The band has just been nominated for an Americana Music Award for Best Emerging Artist alongside Alabama Shakes and Dawes.

      Tickets for the show are priced at $25 (plus service charges and fees) and go on sale this Friday (August 31) at 10 a.m. but Straight readers can take advantage of our exclusive presale and price from Wednesday (August 29) at 10 a.m. to Thursday (August 30) at 10 p.m. by going to the Ticketmaster website and submitting our exclusive presale password Place.

      A limited number of tickets will be available through the Straight presale for the lower price of $15 (plus service charges and fees).
