Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan have a curious friendship

    1 of 1 2 of 1

The New Yorker cover this week features the "bromance" between Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his running mate, Paul Ryan.

Some of the images make them appear like a couple of clean-cut gay guys having fun together. However, the artist, Barry Blitt, is quoted in the magazine as saying "they look about as comfortable to me as an anxious father and his new, soon-to-be son-in-law."

You can go here to see an image of the two of them at a urinal, which didn't make the cut.

Thanks, Charlie. Now I have the theme song from the Courtship of Eddie's Father stuck in my head :(

      The Gruesome Twosome...

When Paul Ryan was younger he drove the infamous Oscar Mayer wienermobile around...gee, what a coinky dink...apparently he and Mitt can now admit to the fact that they both drove around with a dog on top of their vehicle...

If Romney picked Ron Paul instead of Paul Ryan he would have a better chance.

Lawrence, I disagree. Substitute RAND Paul and you might be right. In my opinion, Romney was going for a smart fiscal conservative with family values and who is experienced as a Congressman, yet young enough to appeal to a different demographic than Romney's. Ryan was a good choice; he's comfortable in his own skin and not as prone to gaffes as blundering Biden. Had Romney chosen Rand Paul, that might have mollified Rand's father. That said, Romney has adopted many of the ideas put forward by Ron Paul.
