Coquitlam city councillor Selina Robinson will represent the B.C. NDP in the 2013 election.

In Maple Ridge-Mission, Media Union of B.C. president Mike Bocking will carry the party banner.

Robinson and Bocking were confirmed as candidates in nomination meetings on Sunday (November 25).

In a news release today (November 26), NDP Leader Adrian Dix said the two candidates bring a "wealth of talent and experience" to his party's slate.

“The people of Coquitlam-Maillardville want their representatives to take practical steps to improve healthcare and education,” Robinson said in the release. “I’m eager to hit the doorsteps, hear their concerns, and share Adrian’s positive message with the residents of our community.”

Robinson, who was first elected to Coquitlam council in 2008, was acclaimed for the Coquitlam-Maillardville nomination.

Bocking defeated Bob D'Eith to win the Maple Ridge-Mission nomination.
