The North Vancouver District Public Library presents an online discussion of Naomi Klein's 2014 book, This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs The Climate, on Earth Day (April 22).

The book was made into a powerful documentary film directed by Avi Lewis and released in 2015.

"The really inconvenient truth about global warming is that it's not about carbon," reads the publisher's info on the book, "it's about capitalism... Naomi Klein, author of The Shock Doctrine and No Logo, tackles the most profound threat humanity has ever faced: the war our economic model is waging against life on earth.

"Climate change, Klein argues, is a civilizational wake-up call, a powerful message delivered in the language of fires, floods, storms and droughts. Confronting it is no longer about changing the light bulbs. It's about changing the world--before the world changes so drastically that no one is safe."

The discussion takes place on Zoom and runs from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Pacific time. You can register here.
