Vancouver Fringe Festival moves ahead, staggering dates for 2020 event through fall
The Vancouver Fringe Festival has announced it will spread its programming through the fall.
It says it will put an emphasis on socially distanced live performance by local artists, with a mix of digital programming. Shows take place during its previously scheduled dates of September 10 to 20, but then extending to dates in October, November, and possibly December.
"The in-person, concentrated Festival events will be held at fewer venues with limited capacity to meet the guidelines laid out in the BC Restart Plan and a safety plan will be in place and available to patrons, volunteers, and artists in advance," it announced to Fringe patrons yesterday.
The dates for shows so far are October 1 to 10, October 29 to November 8, and possibly November 26 thru December 6, with those days and programming to be confirmed in early September.
