The Merc With the (foul) Mouth not only smashed Vancouver but the film also pulverized several box office records in its opening weekend.

The Vancouver-shot Deadpool, starring homeboy Ryan Reynolds, hauled in $135 million in North America over the Valentine's Day weekend while also drawing in $125 million overseas.

Here's a list of some of the record-setting films that Deadpool kicked the asses of:

Fifty Shades of Grey: amassed $85.2 million for the biggest Valentine's Day weekend opening

The Matrix Reloaded: held the record for biggest box-office opening for an R-rated film with $91.8 million in 2003

Pitch Perfect 2: had the record for biggest feature directorial debut by Elizabeth Banks with $69.2 million (Deadpool was directed by Tim Miller)

The film, which also boosted the local economy by $40 million during its shoot in B.C., is expected to rake in $150 million for the four-day U.S. President's Day weekend.
