The Straight gets to know some of the artists participating in this year’s upcoming Eastside Culture Crawl.

Who are you? My name is Jenn Brisson. I work in the animation industry by day, and I am a painter/muralist/street artist the rest of the time. I did the "Mother Nectar" mural that's located downtown Vancouver after work hours and on the weekends!

Where is your studio? I'm located at William Clark Studios, which is 1310 William Street at Clark in room 15 (the room with the red door right by the kitchen!).

How many years have you participated in the East Side Culture Crawl? I can't believe this will be my eighth year in a row (since 2008)! The first four years I was in the Parker building and the rest at William Clark.

What’s your medium? Most of my paintings are done with mixed materials. I use spray paint, stencils, paper, acrylic, and gauche.

What are some new pieces we can find at your studio during this year’s Crawl? Oh this year I tried something new! I made some cut-out animals from wood that you can hang on the wall or from the ceiling! I have some robot hummingbirds as well as fun “galax-seeee” fish! You'll have to come in to “seeee” them! I will also have a very vibrant bumble kitty painting called "Pretty Paws" that will for sure put a smile on your face.
