Social media serves up surprises on a daily basis.

This morning, a colleague sent me a Facebook video of something I had never seen before: how a Canadian responds to wildlife.

The post by Jordan Cote shows a mother black bear and her two cubs hanging out in a back yard in Sooke, which is not far from Victoria.

A man walks out of his house holding the video and politely says: "I need you guys to go. Okay? I need you to go. Thank you."

As the bears slowly saunter out of the yard and into the bush, the man then says: "I got to go to work. Hope you enjoyed my yard. Have a good day. Bye now."
