My wife doesn't know

I've never told my wife that when we are going through a challenging time in our marriage, I read the letters we used to write to each other when we were dating. When my eyes start to wander, again, I read the letters we used to write to each other. I read them because they remind me of why I chose to spend my life with her. There will always be challenges and distractions to face throughout our lifetime as one, and dozens of letters won't make them go away, but they remind me of how lucky I am because I can still feel what I was feeling when I wrote those letters, word for word. Obviously I am not perfect if I need to be reminded sometimes... We all need it once in a while.

but if you had an affair you could probably make more letters with the new woman and then have even more things to read. right?

your wife might love it if one day (for no reason just because) you read one of the letters to her. women go crazy for these things
it not only would be a romantic thing to do (for her) but also it would remind her and of course the sex that night is going to awesome (for you). just sayin

I've done something similar with rereading special text conversations. Too many people get caught up in those challenges you speak of and allow stress to overtake their mindset, causing them to forget what they have, but more importantly as you touched on, why they chose that person. But hardships are a normal part of life, and you've found an incredible way to minimize losing love to them. This is so beautiful and made my heart happy to read! Thank you for sharing and giving all of us readers the gift of happiness through your heartfelt expression. Reminders that real love still exists make me smile inside and out. <3
