Bankruptcy

I was recently blown away by a conversation with a good friend who went bankrupt last year. They were content winning arguments online with people than having their business continue. They had had a successful or moderately successful business. In doing so, somehow they got very invested in their online view of themselves and that became most important. I'm blown away because they had a choice. Log off and continue their business, go bankrupt and continue their online presence. They're still my friend, but man what a weird trip.

All My Relations. Your observations are painfully accurate but sadly there is so much increasing incoherence amongst friends and family; but also amongst the human species in this Worly World. Where did these problems come from and how will they end? I don't got all the answers but I'm trying my best to walk in the Taoist way: 'Don't fight negative with negative. Simply deflect the negative and keep moving forward. Always keep moving forward.' And an Indigenous teaching is: 'When we walk into the Sunlight, are shadows are behind us.' Bizarre. There's a lot of research on social media and what it does to a young person's brain, but to think an adult can ruin their lives using it is incredible. Egocentric of your friend to have to always win an argument, that's for sure. Serious feelings of inadequacy. It's a shame they didn't channel it all into the business and become enormously successful. That's what motivates a lot of people. Feelings of inadequacy.

It’s incredibly hard to let go of being right when letting it go or being wrong conflicts with a personal need or value. It can put us in grips with panic, inciting fight or flight when the threat is only within, not without.
