Disclaimer: we haven’t been to every single trending spot or hidden gem in the city. But some of us love having an Aperol spritz with a side of tacos, so we have found ourselves on a patio or two during our day.

Here are, in our opinion, some of the best patios in Vancouver by neighbourhood.

Kitsilano: Local

A beach-adjacent favourite, Local will always be one of our go-to spots for bar classics like burgers and wings. It also has an extensive cocktail menu that features what they call “group activities,” such as ski shots, beer towers, and large pitchers.

Main Street: Anh and Chi

Located right on the corner, Anh and Chi features a covered patio that’s open year-round, rain or shine. The outdoor space features multiple heaters, and its pizza-shaped construction makes it optimal for people-watching.

Commercial Drive: Havana

Havana will never disappoint for cozy vibes, sharable plates, and tropical cocktails. This Cuban dining spot is a local fave with Latin touches outdoors thanks to wicker detailing and vibrant painted decor. There are also plenty of knit throws and pillows for added comfort.

For tucked-away elegance that transports you to a lush greenroom without leaving the city's heart, the Brix & Mortar patio is the place to be. This patio is enclosed within a courtyard-type setting, complete with chandeliers, making Brix and Mortar the ideal spot for event rentals or fancy nights out.

Chupito is a “if you know, you know” type of restaurant. Open only in the summers, this sister spot to Cantina’s 189 is hidden in an alley, and every meal starts with a complimentary shot.
