Chances are, if you’ve ever inquired about must-try restaurants in Tofino, you’ve been referred to Wolf in the Fog. Inspired by the beautiful shorelines of Tofino, Wolf in the Fog's simple philosophy is “fish, forage, feast,” which has created a loyal following of hungry locals and tourists alike. Ready to expand on that success, a top talent from Wolf in the Fog is preparing for the opening of Ombré, a new restaurant set to open in Tofino this summer in the former SoBo location.

David Provencal is currently the sous chef at Wolf in the Fog and will soon become the executive chef at Ombré. Joining him will be general manager Eric Murdoch, who brings his years of experience from his time spent in LA and New York City.

“Our goal is to create light and balanced dishes that elevate the natural flavours of our ingredients,” Provencal states in a release.

“With careful attention to every detail, our aim is to ensure that every visit to Ombré—whether you’re with friends or family—leaves a lasting impression,” adds Murdoch.

Little is known about the new spot, named in homage to Tofino’s sunsets, other than that it will offer seasonal small plates, wine, and cocktails. No matter what’s on the menu, though, guests can surely expect the same timeless flavours and locally-sourced ingredients they’ve grown to appreciate from Wolf in the Fog.
