First-ever Fest With No Name brings new-wave country to Vancouver

Can we get a yeehaw? Because country music is having a moment.

From the recently-wrapped Coast City Country festival at BC Place to Beyonce’s foray into the genre, country music is kind of, dare we say, cool.

Adding to that buzz is the first-ever Fest With No Name, a new two-day festival that will take over the PNE Centre Grounds this July.

The festival features a wide variety of contemporary artists and on-theme activities—like mechanical bull rides and a VIP saloon—to get attendees into the country spirit.

Headlining artists are Midland and Shane Smith & The Saints, with it being the latter’s first Western Canada performance.

The event draws inspiration from two Western movie trilogies—Man with No Name and the Fistful of Dollars—from the 1960s and ‘70s. Its aim is to not just bring live music to Vancouverites, but also present them with an immersive Western experience. The Fest With No Name will also feature drag performances; repurposed set pieces of a locally-shot film; a vendor market curated in collaboration with Forastera Vintage; and more.

Check out the full lineup below. Kickoff and afterparty programming will be announced soon.
