Photos: Polar Bear Swims across B.C.'s south coast

      Around 6,000 people registered for the 100th annual Polar Bear Swim at English Bay in Vancouver.

      That's an all-time record—and there were probably even more swimmers when you add in those who didn't bother to register.

      In comparison, last year there were 1,929 registered swimmers.

      This was also one of the warmest New Year's Days in recent memory, with the temperature reaching 12 °C in Vancouver.
