Vancouver filmmaker Bruce Sweeney usually has a funny-smart handle on the foibles that undo even the strongest-looking people. This time, however, with Tom Scholte as a supposedly popular, “amusingly” self-destructive sports-talk star, everything just looks cheap and easy—like a girl Dick Knost might go for but not the sort of movie arthouse fans, or sports nuts, will actually want.
