If you’ve tuned into 93.7 JR Country at any point over the last few months, chances are you’ve heard at least some of the tinkling bars of “Watermelon Moonshine”.

The billowy ballad by American pop-country singer-songwriter Lainey Wilson has been all over Canadian country radio. Wilson, who has won four Academy of Country Music Awards, two CMT Music Awards, and three People’s Choice Country Awards, and was named Billboard’s Women in Music 2023 Rulebreaker, is heading out on a North American headlining tour next year. The Country’s Cool Again tour touches down in Vancouver on September 26, 2024.

Yellowstone fans will recognize Wilson from her recurring guest role as Abby, the budding country singer who falls for a cowboy on the ranch (after, of course, insisting she’ll never date a cowboy). The character was apparently written just for her.

“Nothing gets me buzzin’ like putting on a show and singing along with the crowd,” Wilson says in a statement. “I want to give a big thank you to all of the fans who have continuously showed up and showed out this year.”

With the cost of literally everything rising, it’s encouraging to see that ticket prices start at $39.95. Wilson most recently performed in Vancouver as one of the openers for country music star Luke Combs at BC Place this past May.
