No more drives to Seattle stuck in traffic with a three-hour border wait, or booking flights to Toronto—if you can even get off the waitlist, that is. The announcement we’ve all been waiting for is here: Taylor Swift is bringing The Eras Tour to Vancouver.

After the prime minister’s tweet (did it actually have any sway? Who’s to say) and an outcry from Canadian fans when the first Eras Tour dates didn’t include any Canadian cities, Swift finally announced that the Eras Tour was coming to Toronto in fall of 2024 with six shows. However, Vancouver fans were stuck among 22 million people on Ticketmaster’s waitlists.

Having performed at BC Place in 2015 as part of her 1989 Tour, and again in 2013 on her Red Tour, Swifties will be happy to hear that she’s setting aside time for Vancouver, and will be performing at BC Place once again with three shows in December 2024 with Gracie Abrams.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be a part of bringing Taylor Swift The Eras Tour to Vancouver, giving fans the experience of a lifetime,” says Terrie Tweddle, chief brand and communications officer for Rogers Communications (presenting sponsor for the Vancouver shows), in a statement. “Rogers is all about connecting Canadians and bringing them the best content and best experiences, and Taylor is simply the best.”

Since The Eras Tour is projected to make a gross of $2.2 billion in just North American ticket sales, here’s hoping a boost to Vancouver’s economy is coming our way.

We sure would have loved to be a fly on the wall in those negotiation rooms.
