Update (April 17): The Vancouver Police Department held a press conference to provide more details about the shooting as well as a vehicle found on fire in Arbutus Ridge. The VPD also identified the victim.

Traffic has been restricted tonight on a section of Burrard Street as a result of a shooting in Kitsilano.

According to Vancouver police, the gunfire occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Burrard and West 4th Avenue.

A male victim died at the scene and nobody has been arrested.

A bullet-ridden white SUV was covered by a tarp in what appears to be a  targeted shooting.

It's a fairly busy area, with many nearby restaurants and luxury car dealerships.

The upscale neighbourhood is not known for gun violence but right now, there's police tape in the same block that's home to a Rolls-Royce shop.

It's not every day that you see police tape on the same block as a Rolls-Royce dealership.
