Updated: Surrey investigation launched after fatal shooting of Sechelt man

      Update (April 24): The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has identified the victim as 32-year-old Khan Micheal Bourne of Sechelt, who died of gunshot wounds. He is known to police, and investigators believe he was targeted for murder. A vehicle was also witnessed fleeing the scene immediately after the shooting.

      Surrey police are investigating the sudden death of a man who had been found lying on the ground with critical injuries.

      Around 3:16 p.m. today (April 23), Emergency Health Services notified police about an injured adult male located in the 13300 block of 114 Avenue in Surrey, according to Surrey RCMP.

      The man was taken to hospital in critical condition but died of his injuries. His identity has not been released by RCMP.

      The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) will be working with Surrey RCMP on an investigation into his death.

      No further information is being provided from police at this point.
