Vancouver home sales and new listings dropped in June

      The number of Vancouver home sales and new listings dropped in June compared to May, the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver reports.

      In June there were 872 residential property sales in the city, down 11.5 percent from the previous month, but up 15.2 percent from the same period last year.

      Meanwhile, there were 1,462 new residential property listings in Vancouver in June, down 13.6 percent from May.

      June’s new listings were also down 18.5 percent from the same period in 2012.

      The monthly figures, based on data from the Multiple Listing Service, were released today (July 3) by the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver.

      For the Greater Vancouver region, there were 2,642 sales in June, down 8.3 percent from May, but up 11.9 percent from June 2012.

      Meanwhile, there were 4,874 new listings in the region last month, down 13.8 percent from the previous month and down 13.2 percent from the same period last year.
