William Shatner blasts into space on Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin rocket
The actor who played Capt. James Kirk has finally come face to face with the final frontier
William Shatner has boldly gone where no member of the Star Trek cast has ever gone before.
Today, the Canadian actor who played Capt. James Kirk became the oldest person who's ever ventured into space.
It occurred when Shatner took a brief visit to the final frontier aboard a rocket owned by the travel company Blue Origin.
The 90-year-old received the invitation from Blue Origin owner and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
Shatner's fellow astronauts aboard the company's New Shepherd spaceship were Chris Boshuizen, Glen de Vries, and Audrey Powers.
They touched down at 8 a.m. Pacific time.
