You Nearly Missed: Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week’s Supernatural Kiki Ball

    1 of 1 2 of 1

Operating on the unceded territories of xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week celebrates the creativity, resilience, and artistry of local First Nations fashion designers.

And while the festival is drawing to a close for another vibrant year, there’s still one event left: the closing party, dubbed the Supernatural Kiki Ball.

Taking place November 25 at Performance Works on Granville Island, the second-annual Kiki will feature a magical nature theme as competitors take to the stage for their best ballroom showcases in categories such as Face and Hands Performance. Judges from Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto, and even Seattle will be there to award the best artists of the night, all while spectators holler, clap, and snap their approval. Expect on-point music, incredible clothing, and an all around excellent time.
