If you thought Lonsdale was missing a place to get tacos and margaritas while listening to throwback jams, then you had the exact same thought as the people behind Gringo.

The chill Mexi-Cali spot is opening its North Vancouver location on May 14, and will be celebrating its new 17-seat restaurant with discounted gift card offers.

Gringo first opened in Gastown over a decade ago, and added a second location on Davie Street in 2022.

Expect to see some classic favourites like Encino (roasted chicken, cabbage, ranch, fried onions) and Beany Baby (refried beans, cabbage, pineapple salsa, and tortilla chips) alongside location-exclusive menu items. The bar will also be well-stocked with beer, tequila, and mezcal, low-fuss cocktails, and non-alcoholic options.

“We’re stoked to bring the Gringo experience to a different part of the city we love and say hi to our new friends and neighbours in North Van,” Shoel Davidson, director of operations, says in a statement. “Our goal is to keep the Gringo spirit alive and well and showcase the same sense of community love and quality food and drink that have made Gringo the guaranteed place for good times and great vibes since we first opened in 2013.”
