The Snotty Nose Rez Kids are on a roll, with no signs of slowing down. The hip-hop duo of Darren "Young D" Metz and Quinton "Yung Trybez" Nyce come from Haisla Nation in Kitimat, BC, and first connected in high school over their shared love of music. A force to be reckoned with, they have been weaving their unique blend of Indigenous culture and hip-hop into the very facet of their music.

Their five albums, each a vibrant showcase of their upbringing, have been resonating with fans worldwide and garnering the duo a multitude of award nominations. And now they have a TV show to add to their resumes.

It was recently announced that the Vancouver-based duo will star in an eponymous comedy series set to air on CBC Television. The scripted sitcom follows Metz and Nyce as fictionalized versions of themselves, living and working in our fair city before their rise to fame.

“It really is a reflection of who we are, because Native people are and always have been funny as hell. We use humour as a way of healing and to bring our people together,” shares Nyce in a speech at CBC. “As Snotty Nose Rez Kids we try our best not to take ourselves too seriously, for the most part, at least, and we always use our humour in our music.”

Snotty Nose Rez Kids is set to debut in 2025.
