Living near mountains is one of the greatest things about living in Vancouver. Want to bask in their beauty even more? Check out this year’s Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival.

You can take in these award-winning films—there are 25 to choose from—as they touch down at either the Rio Theatre in Vancouver or Centennial Theatre in North Van from November 14 to 19.

The festival is broken out into different themes and events designed to entertain and provoke thought. Canadian Bike Night features a selection of films focusing on local mountains, while Stories Across the Land sees local adventurer Taryn Eyton give an inside look at what it was like to write a backpacking book—with all the mishaps and tribulations along the way.

Arc’teryx Climbing Show features first-hand stories from pro climbers Jordan Cannon, Jesse Huey, and Matt Segal; at Arc’teryx Snowsports Show, Squamish’s Eric Carter shares his mountain tales; and Steep and Deep Snow Show features six films, including one world premiere.

Snowsport season is coming, and the stoke is real.
