Indigenous hip-hop artist Mattmac is set to release his third studio album this Friday. The record is a collaborative project with other Indigenous artists throughout Turtle Island, sending a message of empowerment and unity.

Following his albums 20/20 and Blurred Visions, the Winnipeg artist’s All Eyes on Us is entirely self-produced and features a diverse group of 15 Indigenous artists, including Vancouver’s own Dakota Bear and Rex Smallboy. Like his debut and sophomore albums, All Eyes On Us touches on hardships that face the Indigenous community as well as Mattmac’s blindness and his experience combatting self-doubt.

All Eyes On Us is about accepting where I’m at. It took me a long time to get comfortable in the industry, and I’m proud to be able to stand with my community and say look at us,” shares Mattmac in a release. “I’m never going far from where I came from."

As the title makes clear, All Eyes On Us exemplifies the strength of Indigenous people.

      The album’s featured artists are:

      • Okema (Meadow Lake, SK)
      • Jessa Sky (Edmonton, AB)
      • Toosick (Edmonton, AB)
