Our picks for the 2024 Vancouver International Wine Festival
Oenophiles, your reason for the season is fast approaching. The Vancouver International Wine Festival is kicking off another year on February 24, 2024; the annual event organizes an array of winery dinners, trade events, and galas for you to swirl, sip, and spit (or swallow) your way through. There are a lot of events on offer—here are our top three picks.
A Night with Robert Mondavi: February 26 at 6:30pm at Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar
Napa Valley heavyweight Robert Mondavi Winery is bringing a selection of bottles to Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar for a curated pairing dinner. Expect fun bottles like the Robert Mondavi To Kalon Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 1995 alongside chef Alex Chen’s excellent fresh-focused, seafood-forward menu.
Dine With Inama: February 27 at 6:30pm at CinCin Ristorante
Indulge in the flavours of Italy with bottles from the beloved Azienda Agricola Inama winery. Second-generation family member Stefano Inama will be in town to discuss the wines, and pour the likes of the Carmenere Piu Veneto Rosso IGT 2021 and Foscarino Soave Classico DOC 2021. A special complementary menu will be created by CinCin Ristorante’s acclaimed chef Andrew Richardson.
A Family Tradition of Excellence: February 28 at 6:30pm at Provence Marinaside
With a long family history of agriculture in California, Randall Lange and Charlene Lange—the twins behind LangeTwins winery—keep land stewardship and respect at the forefront of everything they do. The estate winery is heading to Provence Marinaside (another family business) for a six-course pairing dinner. With a menu by Provence chef Jean-Francis Quaglia and bottles including LangeTwins’ Nero d’Avola, Red Tail Vineyard 2019 and Midnight Reserve, Lodi 2020, it’s sure to be a tasty one.
