The bearded beauties are here to slay.

Two of Vancouver’s most beloved drag performers—Dust Cwaine and The Established Shanda Leer—are joining forces for a night of solo shows in a double-feature event. Shanda Leer is Dust’s drag mother, and the pair have a combined 13 years as drag artists in Vancouver, with over 500 shows under their belts. 

Taking place at Chill X Studio, the night promises to be a one-two punch of excellent entertainment—swapping clubs and brunch spots for a stage suitable for something a bit more dramatic. 

For Dust, who gained prominence in Vancouver through organizing a recurring show called Commercial Drag, their solo offering is a look back at their growth over the last few years. Commercially Dragged follows their journey from hosting their final Commercial Drag show in 2020—the night before Covid lockdown—and into finding themself. 

Since releasing their debut album Arcana in 2022, Dust’s musical career has taken off, too. Hot off playing shows with local indie faves like Hotel Mira and Young Friend, the show promises to combine music and performance with Dust’s personable charm. 

Meanwhile, scene veterans will be familiar with Leer. In 2016, her one-night-only show wowed crowds—and then she disappeared. Her solo show, For One Night Only… Again, promises “a groping 45 minutes of work ethic and sex appeal” as she answers burning questions through performance, dance, comedy, and PowerPoint presentations. 

Catch them both for one night only—before they get too big to ever do this sort of thing again.
