In a new twist on a winter classic, I present this warming mulled white wine. With flavours of honey and ginger and spice, it is sure to be a new seasonal favourite.
Ingredients
- 750-ml bottle of aromatic white wine (Singletree’s Siggy goes well)
- 1 ½ cups white cranberry juice or apple juice
- 1 orange
- 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled
- 2 tablespoons honey (or to taste)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 star anise
- 5 to 8 cloves
- 2 cardamom pods, crushed a little
- Optional: 75-ml bottle of brandy
Instructions
- Cut the orange and ginger into slices. Place in a Crock Pot or saucepan.
- Add the wine, honey, juice, and spices.
- Warm mixture until it is very warm, but do not bring it to a boil.
- Add optional brandy before serving.
