Subway hid a QR code in Vancouver that can win you hundreds of free subs

First off, you need to ask yourself a question: “How many subs can I realistically eat in a year?”

If the answer is, “How many have you got?”, then it’s time to hit the streets of Vancouver for the launch of Subway’s Great Canadian Challenge.

The contest has 10 QR codes hidden around the country—including one in Vancouver—with 10 million Subway MVP Rewards Points up for grabs in each city. Once you’ve found the location of your city’s QR code, you can use it to enter to win one of 10 grand prizes, each comprising one million points—which are then redeemable for anything at Subway (be it hundreds of subs, or, um, thousands of cookies).

Learn more about the hidden locations by visiting the Subway Canada Instagram page throughout the contesting period. Or, you know, act on this tip: “Vancouver’s is in a park where kids used to meet and gather—helping them find a sense of community in the Endowment Lands.”

Cryptic, not to mention at once kind of specific but also a little vague? That might be exactly the point. But really, if you’re planning to eat hundreds of subs, or thousands of cookies, there are worse things you can do than trot around UBC for a few hours looking for a QR code.

No purchase is necessary to enter Subway’s Great Canadian Challenge. The contest officially kicks off today (November 29) and stays open for entries until December 6 at 6:59pm (so specific!).

In preparation for your big win, you might want to ask Santa for a pair of extra-roomy sweatpants for Christmas.
