Japanese casual-apparel retailer Uniqlo has announced that its fourth Metro Vancouver location will open on September 14.

Situated at Coquitlam Centre (2929 Barnet Highway), the 12,000-square-foot shop will carry Uniqlo’s full in-house range of men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing and accessories. It will be B.C.’s second largest Uniqlo store, behind only the Metropolis at Metrotown outpost.

The first 500 customers who make a purchase at Uniqlo Coquitlam Centre on opening day will receive one free item from the Tokyo-based brand’s heat-retaining HEATTECH line. Shoppers will also be encouraged to spin a giveaway wheel for a chance to win select products and discounts from 2 to 5 p.m.

Founded in 1984, Uniqlo is best known for its versatile basics, relatively affordable pricepoints, and collaborations with high-profile labels and designers such as Peanuts, KAWS, and JW Anderson.

The company’s incoming Coquitlam store is part of a rapid expansion plan that will see the retailer introducing three additional outposts to the Greater Toronto Area this fall, bringing its total number of Canadian locations to nine—all of them situated in Ontario and B.C. It comes on the heels of Uniqlo's mobile e-commerce and smartphone app launch earlier this month.

Uniqlo entered the Western Canadian market with the unveiling of a massive store in Burnaby last year. Openings in Surrey and Richmond followed shortly after.
