Here are five free events happening in Vancouver this weekend—so you can take advantage of what the city has to offer.

      Brick-tastic Easter

Capilano Mall doles out a nostalgic Easter egg hunt, where hunters use flashlights to find hidden eggs, including an elusive golden egg. Visits from the Easter Bunny, plus games, and food from Mama Maan's will be on offer.

      When: March 30, 12pm to 2pm

Where: Capilano Mall (935 Marine Drive, North Vancouver)

      The Big Picnic

Join the Hanami (flower viewing) tradition at David Lam Park in Yaletown and be surrounded by 100 Akebono cherry trees. Activities and installations include BreakOUT (a group movement activity), paper fan decorating, a wishing tree, and drum circles. Forgot to bring your picnic lunch? Food trucks will also be parked alongside the park.

      When: March 30, 9:30am to 4pm

Where: David Lam Park (1300 Pacific Boulevard, Vancouver)

      Blossoms After Dark

Also as part of the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival, take in the illuminated cherry blossom trees at David Lam Park after dusk, with free musical performances setting the vibe.

      When: March 29 to 31, 6pm to 10pm

Where: David Lam Park (1300 Pacific Boulevard, Vancouver)
