South Granville’s hosting a cute and festive Christmas tree lighting

There’s some kind of festive magic in witnessing the moment that a tree goes from dark to lit up, and South Granville is doing it in style with a 14-footer this Friday night.

Vancouver’s own Buddy the Elf from the Arts Club’s production of Elf: The Musical will be there to kick off the festivities, which include brownies and hot chocolate from The Brownie Bakers (while supplies last), live music from the Mount Pleasant Brass Ensemble, and late-night gift-getting that sees 25 stores stay open until 8pm in the usually-sleepy shopping district. Time to get lost in Pottery Barn.
