A group of close college friends who have since gone their separate ways reunite 25 years later for a weekend getaway on Bowen Island. Will emotions fly? Of course they will.

Such is the premise of BC filmmaker Laura Adkin’s first feature film, Re: Unititing, which opens at Cineplex theatres across Canada on March 15.

Starring Jesse L Martin (Law & Order), Michelle Harrison (The Flash), Roger Cross (War For the Planet of the Apes), David James Lewis (Child’s Play), Carmen Moore (Nancy Drew), and Bronwen Smith (Firefly Lane), Re: Uniting was both written and directed by rising star Adkin. The upcoming theatrical release follows successful runs at the Austin Film Festival and the Whistler Film Festival.

A true ensemble film, each character in Re: Uniting has their own internal struggles to unpack as they reintegrate into the group. One person struggles with burnout from her high-pressure job while another processes life-changing medical news; one seems stuck in the glory years of his career while another feels stuck in her reality. Re: Uniting, then, grapples with the very real subjects of mortality, change, nostalgia, identity, and the passage of time.
