Dan Savage’s HUMP! Film Festival returns to the Rio

Dan Savage’s HUMP! Film Festival is cumming—err, coming—back to Vancouver this April.

Set to take place at the Rio Theatre, the annual indie porn film festival will show 24 new provocative films curated by the renowned Seattle-based editor and Straight sex columnist.

The festival’s inception was back in 2005, when Savage asked his readers to submit their homemade sex tapes anonymously to The Stranger, the alt-weekly paper he was the editor of. Now, 19 years on, HUMP! is a travelling film festival that showcases short erotic films by real people—from hot and creative to kinky and gut-bustingly hilarious, including the gamut of sexualities, genders, kinks, and fetishes.

This year, the festival is divided into two parts, with part one screening April 11 to 13 at the Rio Theatre. Screenings include titles such as AirSNF, where erotic tensions build at a short-term vacation rental, and Table Top Tango, an animated dance sequence featuring unconventional partners. Part two will return to the theatre in November.

Historically, tickets sell out quickly—so grab yours while you can.
