One of the most famous participants in an occupation of downtown Ottawa earlier this year is back behind bars.

Justice of the peace Paul Harris ordered Tamara Lich to remain in jail pending her criminal trial on charges of mischief, counselling mischief, obstructing police, counselling to obstruct police, and other offences in connection with the Freedom Convoy.

None of the allegations have been proven in court against Lich, who was one of the organizers.

She returned to court today after a photo of her with another convoy participant, Tom Marazzo was shared over social media. One of Lich's conditions for receiving bail was not to associate with Marazzo.

They were seen together at a Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms event, where she won the George Jonas Freedom Award.

According to Harris, Lich needed to return to jail to maintain confidence in the administration of justice.

Lich was scheduled to appear at a Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedom Award event in Vancouver on Wednesday (July 13), but she cannot attend if she remains in custody.
